Southern Hemisphere: South African Safari

We begin our Southern Hemisphere tasting series in South Africa! South African wines may seem new to most of us, this country has been making wine here for over 350 years. Now the seventh biggest wine producer in the world, South Africa is best known for Chenin Blancs, Sauvignon Blancs, Shiraz, and most importantly, for her native grape, Pinotage. Tickets are $10 with $10 store credit towards tasted wines.

Southern Hemisphere: South America

Thursday, August 18
Next stop in this series: South America! Explore offerings from some of the world’s most up-and-coming viticultural regions: Chile and Argentina. Combined, these two countries account for the largest share of wine imported into the U.S. Known for high-quality bargain wines, they also produce some of truly classic and age-worthy offerings. Tickets are $10 with a $10 credit towards wines tasted.

Southern Hemisphere: Australia and New Zealand

Thursday, August 25
For the final installment of our Southern Hemisphere series we will check out the Dynamic Duo of Australia and New Zealand. The Aussies and the Kiwis make a wide variety of wines from the refreshing Sauvignon Blancs of New Zealand to the massive Shiraz of Australia. We'll travel "the land down under" to see just why these consumer-friendly wines have become so popular. Tickets $10 with $10 credit towards tasted wines.

Oak is synonymous with fine wine for many enthusiasts, as it allows for controlled oxidation as well as adding tannin and flavor to wines stored in it. We'll be tasting wines aged in new and old wood as well as lightly and heavily toasted oak. Bring out the two-by-fours! Tickets $10 with $10 credit towards tasted wines.
