Jen Burger - Wine Consultant
Over the past eight years at the Bin, both Dr. Jay Miller and Tony Foreman have served as inspiring mentors. Opportunities to travel abroad to visit producers have provided me with a real sense that the best wines are grown rather than made. I taste a lot of wines (often over 100 each week) in order to assure that our selection represents the best wines of their type with the strongest price to quality ratio.
Completely irrelevant background:
I am an avid rock climber. If I were a grape, I'd be: Soaking up the sun on a steep hillside in a tiny village in the north of Italy or France. Perhaps I’d be Pinot Noir: difficult to please but capable of great things.
Favorite red wine:
Ever or in general? I most frequently gravitate towards Chateauneuf-du-Pape and red Burgundies, and Barolo. 1978 Grand Tinel Chateauneuf from magnum is my favorite bottle I have ever enjoyed… so far.
Favorite white wine:
Champagne, Champagne, Champagne! Along with white Burgundy and a few gems from Deiss in Alsace.
Favorite song to listen to while sipping wine:
Anything from Gotan Project.
Favorite movie to watch while sipping wine:
I rarely sit still long enough to make it through a movie.
Favorite book to read while sipping wine:
I should really read more.

Dana Curry - General Manager
I first became interested in wine while working in the restaurant industry. I wanted to learn more, so I ran away to Napa Valley and studied wine at the Culinary Institute of America. I came back to the East Coast to take the Certified Specialist of Wine exam through the Society of Wine Educators. While I was here, I saw a listing for full time employment at the Bin, and have been here ever since!
Completely irrelevant background:
I am slightly afraid of lawnmowers. Seriously.
If I were a grape, I'd be
Petite Sirah.
Favorite red wine:
Pinot Noirs, both Old and New World.
Favorite white wine:
German Rieslings.
Favorite song to listen to while sipping wine:
It depends on my mood, but working here has conditioned me to associate wine with Neil Young.
Favorite movie to watch while sipping wine:
Annie Hall
Favorite book to read while sipping wine:
Any book with great maps of wine regions, such as Hugh Johnson's World Atlas of Wine.

Louis Bianco - Assistant Manager
I have been passionate about wine for a number of years now. My dad sparked an interest in me years ago, as he used to read about and study wine often. I remember him explaining the subtle nuances of the wine we were drinking during dinner. As I began to taste more and more quality wine, I realized that wine can be truly remarkable. Also, working at the Bin has provided me with a solid education.
Completely irrelevant background:
I received a Master’s Degree in clarinet performance from the Peabody Conservatory of Music in Baltimore. Music has always been a great love of mine and I still perform in recitals here and there.
If I were a grape, I'd be: Nebbiolo
Favorite red wine:
I most often drink wines from Italy, specifically Piedmont. I’ll take a great Barolo or Barbaresco over any other wine.
Favorite white wine:
I enjoy drinking white wines from the Rhone Valley in France.
Favorite song to listen to while sipping wine:
Since I am a classically-trained musician, I often listen to classical music while drinking wine. However, if I’m having a martini, the music has to be jazz.
Favorite movie to watch while sipping wine:
I rarely watch movies.
Favorite book to read while sipping wine:
I enjoy reading about the place where that specific wine is from. It helps me appreciate it even more.
