Although Australia has had vineyards since the late 1700's, it wasn't until the late 1950's that Aussie winemakers started to focus on table wines. By the 1980's Australian wines finally began to get the attention of the rest of the world. Southern Australia’s forte is Shiraz, a bold, spicy berry-driven wine not for the faint of heart. Shiraz and Syrah are two different names for the same exact grape. |
